Spyderco Triangle Sharpmaker Review

pyderco Triangle Sharpmaker 2

The Spyderco Triangle Sharpmaker makes knife sharpening a quick and easy task. I thought I was good at sharpening knives with a stone, but then I purchased this sharpener and it put all of my past experience to shame! The operation is very intuitive and simple. The principle behind it is that the stone is angled, rather than you having to hold the blade at a steady angle. All you have to do is hold the blade vertically and pull it across the stones. It comes with 2 sets of stones: a coarse stone to do an initial sharpen and a fine stone to make it razor sharp. There are also 2 brass rods that are mounted between the rods and where you hold the sharpener to keep you from cutting yourself. All of the stones and rods fit inside the base for neat, compact storage. There are tons of different things you can sharpen with this sharpener, from knifes and scissors to fish hooks and needles. I would recommend this sharpener to anyone that needs a sharp knife.

Spyderco Persistence Review

Spyderco pic 1

The Spyderco Persistence is the second smallest knife in Spyderco’s budget folder line.  It’s got a blade length of 2.75” blade and an overall length of 6.8” while open.  It has a 4-way clip that can be positioned for left or right-handed carry and tip-up or tip-down carry.  The blade has a very large hole positioned just right for quick opening. The G-10 grips and skeletonized liner keeps the knife relatively light.  The blade was very sharp out of the box and seemed to keep a good edge for a while. The width of the Spyderco knife helps fill your hand very nicely and is easy to control. The knife locks with a liner-lock that is easily released with the thumb of your hand and (with care) allows you to close it one-handed. This is a great, inexpensive knife that I would recommend to anyone.
